Richard Gautier
Richard trained as a traditional plasterer in the UK as a ‘young fella’ who didn’t last long in the company of merchant bankers. Finding his passion for working with his hands, Richard refined his skills over many years and quickly became fascinated by the work of the ancients; their use of natural materials and an inate understanding of their craft. This journey has led him to many corners of the globe in the persuit of knoweldge and experience.
Trowels in hand, Richard moved to Australia in 2006 settling in the Adelaide Hills and quickly earnt his reputation as an expert in heritage buildings and as a skilled craftsman in stone restoration.
Today Richard’s passion lies in seeing heritage buildings restored to their traditional character using natural materials that respect the time-honoured methods to maintain the integirty and purpose of each building.
Richard’s work is defined by the journey of each project he undertakes.
